I was fostered when I was 12 years old, my 2 sisters and 1 brother were also fostered but across different carers. I was with my brother who was 8 years old when first fostered, and our youngest sister (at 2 years old) and our other sister (at 4 years old) were separated from us.

The courts never saw us to know who we were, the legal people never met us... yet they were the ones making decisions about our family's lives.

I am now 16 years old and have learned alot through my experience, and I ended up living back with my mum after I said several times that is where I want to be. I was lucky to still be able to have contact with my mum. I think that happened because of my age. Age features a lot in care system decisions. The legal processes I went through were always different to my brother and sisters.  How being dealt with as a case number and also because of my age as a number, has impacted my life dramatically up to now.

My aim is to help other people whether they are parents, children or even foster carers to realise what happens and how support is available even when a child is known as a number.
